Wolfie was slowly trudging up the side of the mountain, the cold biting at his every limb. Yet, he continued to walk farther up the mountain to even colder temperatures. His tail seemed to be more of a flag that showed the direction of the wind, rather than something he could use for extra balance. He looked around and howled into the air and he could barely hear it over the screaming wind. He waited for a few moments and after hearing nothing, he continued up the side of the mountain. He did love the cold, but it was becoming uncertain how much more of this horrible cold he could take. His bright yellow eyes squinted against the wind as he surveyed what little terrain he could see. He didn't even know why he was going up the mountain, all he knew was that he was just curious and crazy enough to do it.

Asparagus had seen the wolf climbing the mountain. He was nuts, she'd decided. This pack was cold enough as it was, going up the mountain was like having a death wish. So she had decided to follow him, determind to stop him from completing what she had decided was a suicide mission. He obviously wanted to freeze to death. So she was currently scrambling up the mountain and ignoring the icy wind that swept about her and threatened to freeze her still to try to intercept the strange wolf. She had not seen him before, and she couldn't tell whether he was new to the pack or simply intruding, but whatever the story, she would stop him from climbing that mountain.
She saw him stop and howl, though she could barely catch his voice on the wind, and hoped he'd given up, but apparently not. She noted with dissapointment that he was continuing and a low whine escaped her. She stopped climbing and raised her muzzle to the sky to give a howl of her own, hoping he would be able to hear it, and, just to make sure, she kicked a a rock, sending it crashing down the side of the mountain noisily. Hopefully that would do it.

Wolfie thought he heard a distant howl but thought it was his own echoing, so he continued to climb the mountain. Suddenly, he heard a loud rumbling and looked down at a large rock that seemed to have just suddenly started a journey of it's own down the side of the mountain. Then, just as he was about to turn around, he did a double-take and saw another wolf farther down the mountain staring up at him. He didn't know what she seemed to want, so he made the decision to explore some more and continue his climb. The wind continued to scream past his ears and he was sure that if he were only a few pounds lighter, he wouldn't be able to remain on the ground. The snow was gathering on him and it was beginning to bother him, so he stopped and shook himself until he had dislodged the major chunks of snow. He then continued up the mountain as if nothing were out of the ordinary.

She smiled as he stopped and looked at her, glad that he seemed to have noticed her, but then a puzzled frown crossed her face as he continued to climb the mountain. She watched him quizically for a moment before shaking her ead and raising her head to howl for his attention again, though she again wasn't sure of how easily he'd hear her. She scrambled up the mountain side again, desperate to catch him up before he got too high, but she stopped as she reached the place he had been at when he'd stopped. It was too cold. Climbing was hard whilst the icy temperature made her paws numb and her movement difficult and she shivered as the wind blew past her. "Hey!" She barked as sharply as she could, hoping it would break through the wind and get to him. "Hey you!"

He heard another howl and was sure that it wasn't his, he continued to climb, but soon heard a voice yelling hey at him. So, he turned around and saw the wolf standing much closer now, right where he had been before. He heard her shouts again as the wind screamed past him. She stopped and didn't seem to be able to move any farther, owing to the cold. He was curious as to what she wanted, so he started walking back down the mountainside toward her. He was staggering from the wind and rocks and when he finally reached her, his bright yellow eyes squinted against the wind as he looked at her. " Who are you? Is there something you want? " he asked as he tilted his head quizzically to one side.

She looked relieved as he finally seemed to notice that she wanted him. She really couldn't go any higher right now. She shook herself and kept her paws kneading the ground to try and keep them warm. Her tail swung back and forth behind her as well, trying to keep as much movement as possible to avoid being frozen by the biting winds.
"Why are you climbing up here?!" She asked, mostly ignoring his questions. "You'll freeze to death if you go much higher!" She said. Didn't he feel the cold? Didn't him notice where he was going? She shook her head. "You should stop and go back down," she said seriously. She didn't know this wolf at all but she didn't want to see him turn into an icicle.

He almot laughed when he saw her fidgeting around in the cold trying to keep warm. He was standing still in the biting wind as if the temperature was perfectly normal. He was a little irritated that she wasn't answering his questions, but decided to answer hers in hopes that she would answer his. "I'm clibming up this mountain because I'm curious and I wanted to go exploring," he said simply. "How cold is it up there? Is it really cold enough to kill me?" He asked as his head tilted over again. "I was practically born into a blizzard and this cold isn't bothering me that much," he said as he casually looked around at what little landscape there was on the mountainside. "Why should I go back down?" He asked as he I'm having a little fun on my little adventure... Well, actually not a whole lot of fun, but my curiosity is keeping me going up the mountain," he said as his tail began to wag slowly.

She shook her head. Was he serious? "Of course it's cold enough to kill you!" She said. She frowned. "You're lucky you don't feel it so much then. It's freezing up here!" she said. She hadn't been born anywhere particuarly hot but she could feel this cold only too well. This wolf had to be crazy. She wasn't entirely sure she'd be able to talk him into coming down either. She sighed inwardly. "Because...If you go up too far you'll end up freezing yourself! There's probably not much up there anyway..." she added, although she too felt slightly curious as to what would be at the mountain's peak.
((Sorry, kinda bad...I was rushing. =/ ))

He looked around again and absentmindedly kicked a small rock down the mountainside as he thought of what to say. He watched it roll out of sight before looking back up at her. "Well, I guess we could head back down," he looked around yet again. "I'm feeling a little bit chilly," he added as an aftertought. He pawed at the snow again and looked back up towards the peak longingly. "I really wanted to know what was up at the peak, but I guess it isn't worth freezing over," he said with a resigning sigh. He looked back down from the peak to her. "Well, I guess we should go now..." He sighed again, barely audible over the stinging wind, and began to slowly walk down the side of the mountain. He stopped for a moment and shook the snow from his body again and continued farther down the mountain.

she nodded approvingly as he decided he would go down after all. She noticed his longing look towards the mountain peak, and felt a bit like she was stopping him doing something he really wanted to do. But all the same, she would feel worse if the next time she saw him he was frozen because she hadn't stopped him. She began to follow careful after him, trying to keep as close as possible so she could hear him if he spoke. Or indeed, so he could hear her. "Who are you by the way?" she asked, suddenly realising she didn't know his name. "I'm Asparagus," she said with a smile. She was oddly named, she knew, but she liked it all the same.
((So sorry I made you wait so long. >.<))

He continued walking down the mountain "Heh, I'm glad I'm not the only one with a strange name." He said as his paw nearly slipped on some ice. "Ooops, ok my name is Wolfie," He smiled as he continued walking down against the wind. "Something strange I noticed is whenever I turn around, the wind seems to be blowing straight into my face." He looked over his shoulder at her and smiled, "it seems that no matter where I go, everything has to be confusing," he said as his head turned back forward against the wind and snow.
((It's ok^^))
