The brute's fine blood was roasting for joy when he had finally got his prey. It took all the patience in the world of lurking within the dense shadows, his lightning blue eyes blazing like wild fire all the while stalking the stag. It had been a long chase, lasting for several hours. It was hard to catch a deer by himself, but Ragnarok had time. Little by little he followed the deer, and every chance he got close enough he would lash out with cunning jaws to snare it. But at last the stag had given up fleeing, and crumpled to the ground, watery brown eyes pleading that his hunter go ahead and kill him. They had made eye contact for a split second before his life ended. The Stags gleaming brown orbs showed peaceful understanding for the way life worked, and as soon as the brute saw this, he ended the stags pain by gripped its neck with his teeth and snapping it within a second.
Now that it was all over, Ragnarok happily bit down into the stag's flesh and tore it open gleefully, sinking down into the hot blood.

A small fea wandered into view. Her amber eyes searched the area, finally landing on the brute, then to the stag. Good. There were deer somewhere near then, she guessed. She smiled to the brute, half nervously. Her stripy fur was somewhat ruffled from her seemingly endless search for a buck, but now she felt she may be getting closer. She loooked around the area, then back to the brute. She didn't know why, but he made her nervous, and it didn't help that he was tearing into the creature that had fallen victom to him. She sniffed the air, hoping to find a scent that would lead her to her prey, but the air was full of the scents of animals close by. Maybe the deer are farther away than I thought.... she thought. Maybe I could ask this wolf where he found this one. Then at least I'd know if I'm in the right area..... She sat on her haunches, trying to think of what to do. Maybe she could find another pack. But then he would know she was incapable. She sighed, not knowing what to do.

He had already gobbled up a good chunk of the flesh by the time he detected someone was prowling round the area. The hairs on his back prickled, expecting to see a pack of hungry wolves out to steal his kill, but when his sharp lightning eyes scanned his surroundings all he saw was a single fea. Good, she would be no trouble then. "Hello, miss," he said curtly, dipping his head down in a nod. He could tell she looked confused and quite possibly nervous. Perhaps she did not have a pack to hunt with, and would be in need of food. "What brings you out here?"

Asparagus looked to the wolf. She smiled, dipping her head in a sort of bow. Part of her nervousness dissapeared as she decided maybe he was friendly enough. "Well I'm searching for a deer...."She said, thinking that it probably sounded pretty stupid.
((Sorry, very short, limited time))

Yes, she probably hadn't a pack of her own to hunt with, he thought, then looked down at his food. "Well, you can always have part of mine. It is a fresh kill, and has you can see the blood still warm and flesh tender." He waved his tassle and spoke in a rich and enticing voice as he sunk his fangs again into part of the front leg, chewing on it thoughtfully. "More than enough."

Asparagus smiled. Amber eyes looked over his kill. How am I going to catch something that big? Although I guess he did only say buck...So i could try for a young one... She thought. "Thats very kind of you but I can't.....I'm supposed to get one to prove to the alpha of the pack I was intending to join that I'm worthy to be in it....." She said. When she thought about it, she did think it was a bit stupid to be doing this. She be killing for no reason. A deer was too much for herself alone to eat, and she wasn't even hungry. I f she was going to go hunting, it would be better to go for food than for what was more or less a pointless task. She sighed. She wouldn't give up though. Because that would be like saying the task was too hard for her. And that wasn't her.

Ragnarok stared at her with a puzzled look, but it nevertheless kept it mouth shut. "Well, excuse me for saying so, but that's kind of stupid, isn't it?" he said in a cool tone, going a bit hard on her task. "It's not in a wolf's nature to hunt such a big feast by itself, that's what packs are for!" He shook his head, making a light tsking sound. "Waistful, that is, and pointless. It takes enough time as it is for awhole pack to hunt, much less doing it solo."

Asparagus nodded. "I know, but if I don't it would be like saying I can't...."She said, knowing it was a bit of a dumb reason. I guess I could just not go near that pack again...., She thought to herself, but then she shook the idea out of her head. That would be stupid.

He grinned at her. "You probably can't hunt one by yourself, darling. That's why wolves hunt in packs. It's too hard to do it alone." He shook his head. "Listen, the whole point in joining the pack is so you won't be alone and you'll be helping the pack to survive. Why join a pack if they're making you do everything youself?" He licked his maw free of the blood. "Don't bother with it. You shouldn't hunt unless your hungry, not as some entrance exam, you should have more respect for the deer than that. They may be food, but they have lives of their own to get along with."

She nodded as he spoke, knowing he was right. Amber eyes looked at the floor as she thought. What to do......, she thought, frowning slightly. Well it's not like that's the only pack, she thought. She made up her mind. "I'll go back and tell him no," she muttrered, half to herself. "He can accept me without the deer or clear off....." She looked to the wolf. "Thank you, Mister." She said with a smile. Then stood and stretched, ready to go tell Shiroi that she wouldn't get it.
